A game of light and darkness goes on,
O Lord,
in this creation of Yours.
Though light is rushing all around
fog approaches to cover it.

After a moon's smile, a dark night comes.
After enlightened nights, dark times come.
The stars, decorated like lamps in the sky,
suddenly vanish in rain and sunlight.

A baby's smile resembles a blooming flower.
The incomparably beautiful rainbow and the autumn moon
do not remain for a long time.
They lose themselves in the depth of time.
I therefore long for Your shelter, during both pain and pleasure.
