Awaiting Your arrival,
with flowers spread out for You,
I stood in the shade of the bakul tree.

Have You forgotten this incidence?

Due to agony,
my eyes were full of tears.

The sky was clear
and You came with manifold rhythms.

A breeze was blowing,
and it seemed as though the tree had begun to sing,
with the papaya bird pronouncing the fifth note.

Absorbed in the sweetness of sandal,
its branches were swinging to and fro.

With eyes wide open, we looked at one another.

I told You all blind attachments had been dispelled.
You then asked me to come closer.

From time immemorial,
between You and me,
love has existed,
flowing like a river amidst its banks.
