Today, I have kept a clay lamp kindled
in my mud hut.

There is nothing in this world
that I can call my own.
I know only You as the essence of all.

There is nothing which belongs to me,
absolutely nothing.
The mirage of vain hopes has been left behind.

The tussle of likes and dislikes,
of achievement and loss,
made me cry and weep.

The soft breeze along the path brought drowsiness, alas.
The fragrance of flowers became lost in the past.

Whatever I see clearly with my eyes,
whatever I think unmindfully,
enfold all these
in the deepest recess of my mind.
