Having come into my life,
why did You again leave?
Please tell me.

You had kept me tied to the floral thread of hope,
and by going away, left me stranded with tearful eyes.

I was bound in the stone prison (of materialism),
yet, on the stones themselves I bloomed a flower.
That flower I offered to You,
with all my heart.

O eternal companion of mine
from beginningless time,
You are the stream of infinite nectar on this earth.
In fire and in air,

in all entities,
You remain vibrant with vigour.

If You came, why did You leave again,
please tell me why You went away.
You kept me in hope,
whilst my eyes were full of tears.

I was captured in prisons of crudeness,
I had grown flowers there.
I offered those flowers to You
and my heart became refreshed.

O companion, since beginningless time,
Your endless charm flows over the earth,
in the air, in fire, in all entities.
Verily, You are the essence of life.
