Lord, this morning You came
in rhythmic steps
at the time of my visit to the forest.
As I was on my way
You came,
swooping down like a hawk,
catching hold of my hand.
The garland around my hair knot snapped,
my basket of kadamba flowers fell down.
Why do You come
without notice, uninformed?
Why, to show me the path which I already know?
With the magic of Your melody
my mind is intoxicated;
with the rhythmic cadence of Your dance
my mind is overjoyed.
Why do You lavish Your love on me?
I don't call You,
but You come
to flood me with joy.
