On April 8, 1982, Shrii Sarkar began the series of discourses that would be compiled into the book, Namah Shiva’ya Sha’nta’ya. In this book, He revealed the multifarious contributions of Lord Shiva to human society in the fields of song, music, dance, medicine, system of marriage, and Tantra. He showed that the present-day myths about Shiva were concocted merely 1200 years ago by the authors of the Puranas. Since Shiva lived 7500 years ago, these stories are of little historical value. Hence Shrii Sarkar’s intimate knowledge of the times of Lord Shiva did not arise from any scripture or book but from direct experience. As part of these discourses the author composed a beautiful song to Shiva called Shiva Giiti. Five months later, Shrii Sarkar began to compose His vast treasury of songs, Prabhata Samgiita. Within 8 years, Shrii Sarkar composed 5018 songs. The song Shiva Giiti was included as song 2526.
